new-vending-machine-200x150Coming to a mall food court and hotel lobby near you: Vending machines filled with shoes – woo hoo!  Two British companies are in competition. They’ve designed stylish vending machines that dispense 10 dollar a pair  shoes!  The so-called “Rollasoles” come in  four colors: Hi Ho Silver, Gold Digger, Back to Black, and Pink. Plus, they fall out of the machine with an option to get a matching tote bag.

I can’t be positive, but for me, I’m pretty sure this is what part of heaven looks like…..

aerosmith-200x1502The first member of Aerosmith to write a book is drummer Joey Kramer. His autobiography is out today called Hit Hard: A Story of Hitting Rock Bottom at the Top. In the book Kramer also covers his bout with anxiety, depression and substance abuse; a nervous breakdown; a near-fatal car crash and fire; and his tumultuous relationship with his father. He says-”The book is about me, it’s not about the band… It’s about me and my life and how I feel about things.”

Look for Aerosmith with ZZ Top in Concord in mid August.

Bodega Bliss

Posted in: Life

169816567_c1a2eac8cf_m1                                                    Spent the weekend at Bodega Bay..a cool 74 degrees under brilliant sun and next to the amazingly blue Pacific ocean. I played the  New Links at Bodgea Bay..a great coastal golf course. Since we are not going to play Pebble Beach anytime soon, this is a great alternative for coastal links. Every hole is spectacular and it’s a very reasonable green fee considering what you get. I ate a couple of meals at the Blue Water Bistro, the restaurant on the course. The food is great and you can’t beat the views for the ocean, Doran Beach and tons of sand dunes..Only 2hours, door to door from my house in Land Park. This is a jewel and a great escape from the Valley heat. check it out.

169816567_c1a2eac8cf_mSince most of us are not going to play Pebble Beach anytime soon, may I suggest the New Links at Bodega Bay. 18 stunning holes of golf at reasonable rates and plenty of views of the Sonoma Coast. Bring your best game and take on those first 4 opening holes, long and uphill. I was lucky, no wind that day, no fog..Sunny 73 degrees and perfect. While I was there I ate at the BlueWater Bistro, on the golf course. The food was great and I stopped their twice. I never get out to Bodega Bay , I usually go to Stinson Beach. But, the trip to Bodega takes about the same…2 hours. Check out this stretch of California Coast, cool down man, it’s paradise out there.

motown200I’ve seen montage after montage of Michael Jackson video clips since his sudden death yesterday.  I still believe that his performance  during the Motown 25 Tribute Show will remain one of the most electrifying moments in television history.  And there were countless others.  While I grew up in the Golden Era of  R & B in the 1960s…. Michael Jackson singlehandedly took R & B/Pop into the stratosphere in the late 70s and 80s. We’ll not see his like again.  With all his eccentricities, he seemed to be a tormented soul in the later years of his brief life.  Maybe now he’ll finally find the peace he was searching for.
