Taking the checkerd flag

Something happened this week that never happened before in Sports..a race car driver won the “ Male athelete of the year” award from Associate Press. Jimmie Johnson and his #48 car took the season championship for the 4th year in a row..4th consecutive year in a row, it’s never been done and to me, seems almost impossible. This is like a team winning the Superbowl or the World Series 4 times in a row, and believe it, stock car racing is a team sport. Not in NASCAR’S 78 year history has a single driver/team won 4 consecutive championshiops, Jimmie Johnson is, as Mark Martin says..”Superman” Jimmie beat out Roger Federer Usain Bolt, Kobe Bryant, Albert Pujols and Tiger Woods. Jimmie is simply the best stock car driver competing today. He is not the most colorful, interesting or controversial, but he is without a doubt, the best damn driver in NASCAR..Congrats to Jimmie.
