If you’re to believe the reviews in this mornings San Jose Mercury, Springsteen and the E Street band were pretty dull at their opening show at HP Pavillion last night.
According to the article, they seemed to never jell, many people were “looking at their watches” an hour into the show, and the set weighed heavily on new material.
For the full bloodbath, read here.

I was there. The review is completely off base. I can see if you are a jaded Bruce fan (like the reviewer) who has been to dozens of shows you might think it was a little dull. But come on, it was Bruce. It was spectacular.

Agreed the review was way off, as the commenters over there said. And the title of this post is even more absurd. Backstreets.com has a much better review.

Read the comments section after that pathetic review — many people who were at the show, me included, have chimed in to tell that guy what he missed. No one was looking at their watches in our section! We had an incredible time. BTW our friends who have seen him 21 times agreed it was one of the best shows ever … so I’ll take their word anyday over that snooty reviewer.
